The Urban Farm

The Urban Farm TUF is a farm and education center that offers events, workshops, after-school programs, camps, field trips, and volunteer opportunities.

Learn about gardening, raising livestock, and horseback riding. Come explore the farm in the city! The Urban Farm (TUF) was created in 1993 when its founders began a program for 15 inner city youth to learn about horses at a private farm. It subsequently expanded its programming to include other animal and plant programs. The Urban Farm has evolved into a 23-acre educational campus devoted to prog

rams in equine education, animal husbandry and horticulture in an intimate farm setting. Our team includes Board Members, Staff and Volunteers passionate about educating and mentoring children and youth about animals, agriculture, sustainable living, and environmental stewardship. In addition to its educational programs, The Urban Farm provides an important visitor attraction to the Northeast Denver area, as well as an attractive and unique venue for mission related activities and events. Our programs incorporate the Five TUF Character Strengths that are the foundation of our learning goals: Respect, Responsibility, Grit, Caring, & Curiosity.

Congratulations to our Goat and Sheep Club Members, Annabel and Liza, for their impressive showing at the Estes Park Wool Festival this past weekend.

Annabel R: won grand champion colored doe with Pheobe, and grand champion buck with Tatertot

Where in this ridiculously wild world would we be without our volunteers?! Thank you to Whole Foods Market for providing a second group of volunteers in less than a month. That burdock doesn't stand a lick of a chance against y'all. On top of that, you helped us open two more lanes in our market garden to start seeding. A few more families in Denver are going to eat because of this crew. And that's pretty cool. Definitely wholesome. Thanks, Whole Foods. See you again in July???

We’ve changed the start date of our Rabbit Crash Course to give more time for people to enroll. Youth ages 7+ can enroll in this 6 week class to learn how to care for rabbits and enjoy time with TUFs fluffy bunnies.
