The Urban Farm

The Urban Farm TUF is a farm and education center that offers events, workshops, after-school programs, camps, field trips, and volunteer opportunities.

Learn about gardening, raising livestock, and horseback riding. Come explore the farm in the city! The Urban Farm (TUF) was created in 1993 when its founders began a program for 15 inner city youth to learn about horses at a private farm. It subsequently expanded its programming to include other animal and plant programs. The Urban Farm has evolved into a 23-acre educational campus devoted to prog

rams in equine education, animal husbandry and horticulture in an intimate farm setting. Our team includes Board Members, Staff and Volunteers passionate about educating and mentoring children and youth about animals, agriculture, sustainable living, and environmental stewardship. In addition to its educational programs, The Urban Farm provides an important visitor attraction to the Northeast Denver area, as well as an attractive and unique venue for mission related activities and events. Our programs incorporate the Five TUF Character Strengths that are the foundation of our learning goals: Respect, Responsibility, Grit, Caring, & Curiosity.

📅 CSA Pick-up Update: Labor Day Shift

Heads up, CSA members! Since Labor Day falls on Monday, September 7th, this week's pick-up is moving to Tuesday, September 8th, 4- 6 p.m. Same spot: 10200 Smith Road, Denver.

Grab your container and swing by Tuesday instead. We're back to our regular Monday schedule the following week.

Our Fall Crash Courses give your participant a chance to learn about how to take care of goats/sheep or chickens/ducks in these hands on one of a kind classes. After completing the crash course, you can decide if you’d like to sign up for one of our year-round programs.

GOAT AND SHEEP CRASH COURSE

This group will meet a total of 12 times on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings in October and November. The cost of this program is $450.00.

Meeting dates: 10/1, 10/3, 10/8, 10/10, 10/15, 10/17, 10/22, 10/24, 10/29, 10/31, 11/5 and 11/7

Times: Thursdays 5PM-6PM, Saturdays 10AM-11AM

Must be age 8+ to participate

POULTRY CRASH COURSE

This group will meet a total of 6 times on Saturday mornings in October and November. The cost of this program will be $225.00.

Meeting dates: 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31 and 11/7

Time: Saturdays, 9:30AM-11AM

Must be age 8+ to participate
