It was a kettle sour long weekend! If you know kettle sours, you know it's a 2-3 day ordeal. I have yet to successfully brew a kettle sour that I'm happy with, but I think this time π€it will be different!
As some may know, we're in a drought here in Denver and under strict water restrictions. I do my best to conserve where I can. In the video you'll see my beer chilling from boiling to 100Β°ish degrees. From there my glycol chiller gets it to the temp it needs to be in the fermenter before pitching.
The waste water, water to cool the boiling wort, is transferred to my garden hose where I fill up my rain barrel, or if that's full, I water the lawn.
All and all, it was a good brew weekend, looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. Hope everyone had a blessed memorial weekend!
