Our Plantware cutlery is currently on display at the Denver Art Museum as part of a new exhibition, "Knife Fork Spoon: Everyday Tools, Extraordinary Design."

The exhibition features flatware sets spanning over a century and showcases the functional, cultural, and artistic choices made by designers to turn ordinary objects into extraordinary. The collection also shows the evolution in materials, manufacturing, and social values over the last 125 years. Our Plantware cutlery is shown in the newer, forward-thinking section exploring the direction flatware will be headed in the next century 🍴

Last week, the Association of Compost Producers hosted their latest Compost Caravan Event in Orange County. Our PZW Ciara was on site to view compost blowing demonstrations and tour the UC Agriculture & Natural Resources South Coast site to see multiple different research projects they are conducting around soil health and irrigation. She also got to speak with master gardeners about their multiple different compost solutions they have on site. Afterwards, the group toured the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill & Greenery to see what happens to your food scraps and yard waste at a massive scale.

Ciara also coordinated a zero waste lunch with our compostable foodservice items being used and then processed right on site at Bee Canyon Greenery! We even got a sneak peak at a pilot program we're helping conduct with our products and different types of composting sortation equipment. We also want to thank OC Waste & Recycling and the US Composting Council for putting on such a successful event!

This week our team attended the Recycle Colorado's Summit for Recycling, Colorado's biggest statewide networking and educational event focused on capturing the value in our waste streams.

We enjoyed a few days of making connections and sharing the value of our waste stream and moving towards a circular economy. We were proud to sponsor and exhibit the Summit again this year, and happy to say our Composter Hauler Distributor (CHD) partner, Scraps responsibly disposed of compostables and food scraps, making the summit on track to be a zero waste event. Each year, it's wonderful and inspiring to see the great work happening across our state and celebrating those who are making strides forward!

Take a look at our Zero Waste Partnership with Petco Park in BioCycle's latest article! This article details the years of work we put in, collaborating with multiple organizations, to find the best solution for Petco Park.

We started with the end during this project—the composter. By field testing using the CFTP protocol, and gaining trust with the local composter, we were then able to create a system and a list of products that would work for everyone involved. We're excited to expand on the incredible waste diversion work Petco Park was already doing, and hope that this can be a replicable example of success that other large venues will look to.
