Union Hill Farms opens just in time for Easter each year. We sell flowers and vegetable plants in the spring and provide the community with fresh produce in the summer. In the fall, we operate a free hayride to our pick-your-own pumpkin patch on weekends and fill the roadstand with homegrown apples, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes, winter squash and much more. Union Hill Farms also features a vari

ety of homemade jellies, jams and preserves. While the supermarkets truck their produce in from all over the country, Union Hill Farms offers vegetables that have been harvested right in Denville.

We had the pleasure of meeting David a couple of weekends ago. He has a YouTube channel called farmfindsandfeasts where he’s been going around to local NJ farmstands and creating meals with the produce purchased at said farm. It’s pesto season! Our basil is big, beautiful, and ready to be pulled. Stop by our roadstand any day or visit us at one of our farmers markets to grab a fresh bunch!

Have more basil than you can use? No problem! Chop the leaves in a food processor with a little olive oil, spoon the mixture into ice cube trays, and freeze. Then, all winter long, you can toss a basil cube into soups, sauces, or pasta for a fresh taste of summer.

We’ve got the outside shade structure set up, so you know what that means—it’s corn season at Union Hill Farms!

Our roadstand is fully stocked with fresh-picked sweet corn and plenty of other fresh, local produce. Stop by, stock up, and taste summer at its best!

It was a wild weather week here at the farm—and across New Jersey! We went from 100+ degree heat to 80 mph winds, followed by heavy rain, and finally ended the week with some decent weather.

The heat and rain definitely helped the crops move along. The wind… not so much.

The first photo shows one of our patches of sweet corn after the storm. Thankfully, by Monday, the stalks had stood themselves back up, and it’s looking much better.

Here’s what’s coming along:
-Sweet corn is getting really close.
-Eggplant should be ready next week.
-Our cut flower patch is expected to open by next weekend, if not sooner.
-We’re now picking our own Kirby and slicing cucumbers.
-We pulled all of our garlic.
-The tomatoes are getting bigger every day, but they’ll need a little more time before they’re ready to ripen.
