A New Chapter & Opportunity at Our Farm

Sometimes life changes, priorities shift, and a business plan evolves. After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to make a change in both my personal life and the strategic direction of our business.

I will now be offering approximately half of my barn for lease to an established trainer, equine professional, or individual who is looking for a place to move in and operate with their own horses.

This would essentially be your own space within an established horse facility, giving the right person the opportunity to bring in their horses, clients, or program and manage them independently.

One important detail: the lessee will be 100% responsible for the daily care and management of their horses. This includes feeding, watering, stall cleaning, turnout, and all other routine care associated with the horses in their portion of the barn.

This isn't about stepping away from horses or the industry I love. It's simply about restructuring, making some changes, and allowing our farm to work a little differently as we move into the next chapter.

If you are a trainer looking for a facility to call home, have several horses and need a place to keep them together, or know someone who may be the perfect fit, please send me a private message for details.

Or I may be willing to lease out the stalls individually as well. Looking at approximately 6 stalls.

~♡Pick Your Trainer Wisely~♡

When choosing a horse trainer, make sure you’re choosing someone who is actually involved—not someone who just sits in a chair and tells you what to do.

When I give lessons, I walk my arena the entire time. If a horse and rider are struggling with barrel two, you’ll find me standing at barrel two. I want to see the approach, the turn, and the exit. If they’re struggling at the top pole, that’s where I’ll be. I’m there because the little details matter.

And just as importantly—make sure your horse likes your trainer, too.

One of my favorite things is when we’re standing around talking and my clients’ horses start inching closer and closer to me, just hoping I’ll reach over and pet them. ❤️ Horses are pretty good judges of people.

A good trainer should know your goals, study your problems, celebrate your progress—and earn the trust of the horse underneath you.

Pick a trainer who shows up for BOTH ends of the lead rope.

People often think that when you’re a horse trainer, your entire life is horses 24/7. And while the horses are certainly a huge part of who we are, we have lives outside the barn, too.

We have families we love, friends we cherish, and other things that matter to us.
And right now, one of those things is our children heading back to school.

As those big yellow buses start traveling our roads again, please slow down, pay attention, put the phone away, and be patient.

That bus in front of you isn't an inconvenience—it is carrying someone's whole world.

Let's pray for the children walking to bus stops, getting on buses, driving to school, and sitting in classrooms. Pray for the bus drivers entrusted with getting them there safely. Pray for the teachers, aides, administrators, and everyone else who will help guide them through another school year.

And maybe most importantly, talk to your children about kindness.

Talk to them about bullying. Remind them that the child sitting alone might desperately need a friend. The student wearing different clothes, struggling in class, eating lunch alone, or simply not fitting into a certain group deserves the same kindness and respect as everyone else.

Teach your children to be the one who says, “Come sit with us.” Teach them to speak up when someone is being picked on. Teach them that being popular will eventually mean very little, but being a good human being will matter for the rest of their lives.

We spend a lot of time teaching our horses patience, confidence, trust, and respect. Maybe those aren't bad lessons to carry outside the barn, either.

Slow down for the buses. Watch out for the kids. And raise children who choose kindness.

Sometimes the person behind everyone else’s dreams needs a moment, too.

For the past five weekends, I’ve been chasing white lines.
Georgia. Tennessee. West Virginia. Miles and miles of highway, early mornings, late nights, horse trailers, show grounds, and doing everything I can to help the kids and horses walk into that arena prepared to chase their dreams.

And I love it.

I love the kids. I love the horses. I love watching hard work come together. I love the excitement, the friendships, the wins, the lessons that come with the losses, and yes…even all those white lines stretching out in front of us.

But somewhere along the way, the person behind the wheel gets tired too.

Because coming home doesn't mean coming home to rest.
It means horses to feed, stalls and barns to tend to, training horses to ride, lessons to give, grass and fields to mow, hay to put in, equipment to maintain and whatever decided to break while I was gone to fix.

Then you load up and do it all over again.
That's the part of this life people don't always see.

Burnout doesn't mean you don't love your life.

Sometimes burnout happens because you love it so much that you keep giving it everything you have.

You keep showing up.
You keep saying, "I'm fine."
You keep pushing because people and animals depend on you.

Until eventually you realize it's time to give yourself some of the same care you've been giving everyone else.

So this weekend, I'm staying home.

No horse trailer rolling down the highway.
No destination punched into the GPS.
No chasing white lines.

I'm doing absolutely nothing — except, of course, taking care of the horses because we all know horse people don't actually get a day completely "off."

I'm going to rest. I'm going to breathe. I'm going to take care of myself.

Because there will always be another show.
There will always be another lesson to teach, another horse to ride, another field to mow and another dream to chase.

But there's only one me.

And maybe one of the most important lessons we can teach our kids is that being strong doesn't mean running yourself into the ground.

Sometimes strength is knowing when you've done enough.
I love helping them chase their dreams. I love chasing those white lines.

But this weekend...

One of the biggest things that stood out to me at the 2026 NBHA Youth & Teen World Championships wasn't just the incredible runs—it was the number of riders choosing to wear helmets.

Many of the top 1D riders—the very competitors so many young barrel racers admire and dream of becoming—crossed the timer wearing helmets. These athletes have proven that you don't have to choose between being competitive and being safe.

Horses are amazing partners, but they're still animals. Even the most seasoned horse can stumble, spook, or have an unexpected moment. A helmet can't prevent every injury, but it can help protect the one thing that can't be replaced—your brain.

To all of the riders who choose to wear one this past week, thank you for setting an incredible example for the next generation. Young riders are always watching, and your actions speak louder than words.

Champions aren't remembered only for how fast they ran.

They're also remembered for the example they set.

That leaves 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 44 seconds in the day. What are you doing with the rest of your time?

Slow down and enjoy the horse show. Laugh with your friends—especially the close ones who make every weekend memorable. Cheer for other riders. Create memories that will last far longer than any winning run.

Most importantly, spend time with your horse. Love on them. Hand graze them. Give them a breathing treatment. BEMER them. Groom them. Walk them. Let them know they're appreciated.

They don't care about your placing—they only know that they gave you everything they had.

Yes, work hard and chase your goals. But don't let a 16-second run become the only thing you remember from the weekend.

Use your 16 seconds to compete... and your other 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 44 seconds to truly enjoy the journey.
