While researching restaurants to visit in Portland we saw a YouTube video about Twelve () and we just had to visit.

Twelve is one of the top restaurants in the country. Its chef, Colin Wyatt used to work at Eleven Madison Park, which has 3 Michelin stars and was named the World’s Best Restaurant in 2017 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

Fair to say expectations were high and still Twelve met them🙌

It’s restaurant week in Maine so we had items from both the PrixFixe menu and the restaurant week menu. For the Prix Fixe I started with the Sweet potato which was delicious and followed that up with a huge portion of Jonah Crab that was dressed perfectly.

For the main course I has the New York Strip and need with a Chocolate Sundae that was unlike any sundae I had before. Just an incredible meal.

We got so lucky this week in that we were able to walk into Central Provisions at lunchtime without a reservation.

I had heard about CP and I was still blown away by how good the food was. The flavor profiles of each course were absolutely perfect.

CP is small plates and we started with a beet salad that was unlike any beet salad I have had before.

Followed by bluefin tuna that was cut so thinly it literally melted in my mouth and then a beautiful scallops dish.

Lunch was topped off with an incredible Key Lime pie. The best desert we have had in Portland.

We had an incredible meal at this week. When I asked Mrs Taste of Vermont what made it so good she said the first bite. The first bite of everything we tasted was so good. From the perfectly dressed salad to the best mussels we have ever had to perfectly cooked scallops this was an incredible meal.

lived up to its reputation yesterday. Soup and chili were terrific and the French fries were every bit as good as what people said they were.
