Crooked Que BBQ and Weekend Bum BBQ are headed west this November for the BBQ Jackpot in Las Vegas! We’re grabbing a couple of friends from Poppin Smoke and BBQ Pit Bros to help us along the way. 🚛💨

Two BBQ teams. One epic road trip. Enough pitmaster chaos to make this a journey worth following.

Wow we don’t even know where to begin! Our 3rd American Royal was nothing short of amazing! Our arrival on Thursday was a wet one but it cleared off and we couldn’t have asked for better weather the rest of the weekend! Friday we got to hang out with our bbq family and friends. Attending the Weekend Bum party, along with the Snake River Farms corporate party. It was nice to have a night to relax and let loose. Saturday brought day one of our actual cook and it started with helping our good friends Low Eye Que cooking the invitational. Wow what an experience getting to watch and help them do their thing! We also competed in all the side dish categories, along with Konnor and Beckett doing the Kids Que. We were very happy with our side dish turn ins! We can’t thank Rob Hamilton from Bare Knuckle BBQ for helping with the sides and being our box runner so Heather and Richard could go help the boys with the Kids Que. Sunday morning started bright and early for our big cook! The day started out great and then came the hiccups 🤣 Starting with our pork barrel smoking like crazy, only for us to realize we should have cleaned the barrels(oops) but thanks to our buddy T-Rex BBQ, we swapped out lids and all was well! He literally saved our pork!! Then our chicken was done at 11:05 for a noon turn in. If you’ve cooked, you know that is not a good thing lol! But again with some help from T-Rex, our chicken was just fine! We actually had a relaxing cook after that and everything just clicked! We loved everything we turned in, which in the bbq world is a bad sign 🤣🤣 So how did we do cooking with 360 of the best teams in the world?!??

OVERALL: 25th with a 699.3828(that dang 700 eluded us again!!!)

Hearing that 7th place pork call, with a 180 was definitely a surreal experience since that has been the one category we’ve struggled with all year long! I’m pretty sure this will be a Royal none of us will ever forget! Several of our friends heard their names called and it was so cool to witness that!!

We also want to give a HUGE shoutout to Cadence Perkins for coming along with us to help with the boys and be there wherever we needed her! It was her first ever bbq comp and we chose the biggest one 🤣 She even got pimped out to run boxes for our buddy Never Easy BBQ and never even hesitated to help! So thank you thank you Cadence!!!

Now to take a couple weeks off before heading to King Of the Corn!
