I’m a control freak…

So when Mostly Kiddo wants to “help” or just hang out in the microgreens room with me - I give him little projects to do so he feels included. He often elicits the help of an excavator or a monster truck. I have some old seeds that I let him go to down with. After getting his excavator all dirty we proceeded to use another tray for a car wash/bath.

These deeper trays are cheap so of course it broke and there was water everywhere! Thank goodness the floor is cement!

I’m Emily, the face behind Mostly Greens. Thanks for being here!

A few things you may or may not know about me:

≻ I’m a huge Harry Potter fan, I even have a tattoo
≻ I work full time as a client service rep at a veterinary clinic in Seattle
≻ Our team at Mostly Greens consist of moi, my husband, and our 4yo. We also elicit help from my sister when we have bulk orders!
≻ I cannot handle spicy food, I’m a huge wimp! As the years have gone on I’ve gotten better, but still overall a huge wimp
≻ I’m deathly afraid of moths, and most other flying things
≻ My biggest pet peeve is loud eating
≻ Coke is better than Pepsi, except when it comes to cherry - Wild Cherry Pepsi is far superior to Cherry Coke
≻ As someone who struggles with social anxiety (and anxiety and depression in general) most of my jobs have been customer facing jobs. Starbucks was the one that really pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me get to where I am today!

The Mostly Greens Family! 💚

We had a blast during our photoshoot with the amazingly wonderful Ana from . Well, she’s Ana to me - we go way back to our Starbucks days working together at the mall.

She’s one of those people that you pickup where you left off. We haven’t seen each other in years but we kept in touch via social media. I knew I wanted her to photograph us when we started this business and she crushed it!

Find yourself an Ana. Someone who cares deeply, loves genuinely, and is a joy to be around.

She has relocated to Ohio, so if you’re in the Akron area - look her up!

Most microgreens have the same foundation for prepping the trays. The things that vary are seed density, whether to soak or not and how long, and then germination and grow times.

Where it all begins - the seed!

Mostly Kiddo often helps me weigh out seeds and he loves planting his own as well!

This particular variety is Speckled Pea! They start out dark colored with speckles (hence the name) and after soaking they turn a lighter tan color.

WOW! Our photos from came back and they are TO DIE for! I absolutely love them and cannot wait to share them all with you! 🤩

Pictured is Rambo Radish on top of freshly cut rosemary and garlic bread, mayo, tomatoes, and everything but the bagel seasoning. Not only did this look good, but it tasted amazing!

How??

How on earth did I go from 25 to 25K followers in less than 90 days??

I created this account and made my first post on 1/30/22 and hit 25K on 4/24/22 🤯

Here’s what I did:

≻ Post a reel daily
≻ Post a combination of reels, static posts, carousels, and stories
≻ Focus on quality not quantity
≻ Stay true to myself
≻ But went out if my comfort zone at the same time
≻ Learned from other’s success - watching those that are doing well and try to do what they are doing

Thank y’all so much for your amazing support in starting this venture!

I want to connect with amazing people, inspire those to find their passion, and teach others about microgreens - all while having a good time!
