Our deepest sympathies to the family of Al Johnson. He was a valued member of the Iowa Simmental Association and a staunch promoter of the Simmental breed. He served on the Iowa Simmental Association Board of Directors and was an honored recipient of the Christensen Elite Award. Al was always ready to talk cattle, lend a helping hand wherever it was needed, mentor a young breeder and always had that ready smile and his easy going way to move things along. We lost a great friend, and he will be missed by many.

The Simmental Today newsletter for November with all the information you need for your entries to the "Mark of Genetic Excellence" sale at the Iowa Beef Expo plus news about summer activities shows and other changes will be arriving soon to your inbox so don't miss a word. Please note a NEW SALE DATE - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2025!! You can find all the information you need in the newsletter. Also make sure to check your pedigrees for genetic defects and get testing done early to allow for time for the results to be returned.
