Scientists right here in Iowa are working on ways to forecast nitrate spikes before they create drinking-water challenges!

A University of Iowa led research project is developing tools that could help water utilities predict elevated nitrate levels days or even weeks in advance. 🙌

💧 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐎𝐖𝐀!

We have some positive water updates to share with our neighbors in Woodward and Carlisle!

After recent water main breaks caused disruptions to municipal water service, both communities have received the all-clear!

✅ 𝐖𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃: The boil water order was lifted Sunday, October 4.

✅ 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐄: The boil water advisory was lifted Saturday, October 10, after testing confirmed the city's water meets safety standards.

Residents can now return to normal water use, including drinking, cooking, and bathing.

We know how much our communities depend on having reliable water every day, and we're thankful for everyone who worked to restore service and support their neighbors throughout these emergencies. 💙

We're proud to serve Central Iowa, and sharing helpful water information is one more way we can support the communities we call home.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources recommends testing private well water when you notice changes like these, as well as after well service or flooding.
