Bali Bulay fact for the curious: in Bali, a kite (layang-layang) is more than a toy. Many carry a guwangan, a taut rattan band on a bamboo bow that hums in the wind, and in kite season they're tied off and left aloft for days, singing over the village day and night. Chef Kaleb's five Indonesian courses follow one day on the island: Fields of Gold and Green at sunrise, Heat of the Day at midday, a Cool Dip in the Ocean in the afternoon, Sunset on the Horizon in the evening, and a Moonlit Beach Walk to close the night. Two warung stops, drinks with no alcohol, come between courses.

Join us for an evening that follows a single day in Bali, from sunrise to moonlight.

On Sunday, October 25, Chef Kaleb is hosting a Chef's Table at Local Bites, 700 Locust Street: a five-course Indonesian dinner at one long communal table, with linens and full table service. Each course is a moment in the day: the morning fields, the heat of midday, a cool dip in the ocean, the sunset, and a walk on the beach under the moon. Two drink pairings with no alcohol come along the way.

There are only 25 seats. Tickets are $100 per guest, with tax and gratuity included.
