Fun Fact Friday!!!

Did you know that hiking through a pine forest can leave one feeling invigorated? Pine trees (not pictured here...these pics display what looks like a forest of a different type of "tree") produce a terpene called alpha-pinene. It's what's behind that quintessential pine aroma. Interestingly enough, alpha-pinene acts as a bronchodilator to us humans, which can have an invigorating effect.

Cannabis produces terpenes, as well. Lots of them. Terpenes are the primary group of secondary metabolites that cannabis plants produce which provide the flavor and aroma. And alpha-pinene is widely found in cannabis, too. It's not a coincidence that cultivars of cannabis that smoke "like a sativa" tend to have higher concentrations of alpha-pinene in them (among other terpenes). The cultivar's genetics dictate which terpenes get produced and at what proportions. This is why the Lemon Cherry Gelatos tend to smell like Lemon Cherry Gelato time and time again.

Creamcicle Zkittlez Cake 🎂 and Frosted Cereal Bomb 💣 outdoing themselves right now. The CZC is throwing out some impressive colas throughout the entire canopy. And FCB doing what FCB does (purpled out and covered with trichomes). These are going to be fun to harvest!

Time to celebrate! Dr. Robb Farms just recorded its largest harvest ever! This got me thinking about some of the equipment we use to get to this big of a yield. Thanks to Innovative Growers Equipment, Inc. for producing such robust benches that can handle all this extra weight!

To many, many more monster harvests!🎉

I am thrilled to announce that, after several successful years of partnership, my business partners and I are expanding our collaborations with Innovative Growers Equipment (IGE) - Hydrofarm Commercial. As a horticultural researcher, founder at Dr. Robb Farms, and all-around plant nerd, I am excited to explore new avenues of research, testing, and trials with IGE - Hydrofarm.

In the coming months, I will be designing and performing research on Photobio lighting, Innovative Growers Equipment Benches and racks, as well as House & Garden nutrients and additives. We will publish white papers and educational videos (with a splash of humor) on how these products affect crop productivity. This in-depth exploration will allow me to offer expert advice and valuable insights on these and other Hydrofarm Commercial products.

I look forward to sharing the results of my research with all of you. Stay tuned for future updates and insights!

Sincerely,
Dr. Robert Flannery, aka "Dr. Robb"
