Early season small squash are already showing up. Pumpkin time is near. Maybe soon we will say goodbye to sweltering heat.

The joys of getting in interesting and new produce. We are in a great time of mid season. We are able to get early fall crops and as well as great summer crops. We have to stretch our boundaries of local but staying true to seasons and having the best for the chefs. I enjoy what we do and I’m always impressed by learning new crops still after this many years of being overly involved in this business.

It’s officially “Corn day” in our world. Each year we wait with great anticipation for Mr Vince Allegri to harvest his silver queen corn out of Baldwin county Alabama. It’s really one of the most anticipated days of the season. It makes me know we are in summertime.

We wait for this all year. The late spring and early summer are when the best produce begins. The tastiest of the tomatoes, the heirlooms arrived this morning from and .family.farm. Galia melons and cacuzza squash and blackberries are in full swing.

Beautiful color on these bluefin. Nice to have pretty fish for the Mother’s Day weekend. More than half went out today to restaurants to be able to serve the Moms for the holiday. We always appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm for great food.

It’s been a while and we are in the middle of both season’s crops. Lots of the greens available since we had weather in the 50’s last week and some summer crops starting to show up since it’s now almost 90 degrees outside. Royal red shrimp out of Alabama with heads on like true royals always are sold and bluefin tuna along with beautiful softshells(limited as always)
