⚖️ What do you think is driving the rise in violent incidents across small communities? Of course they are looking at a mental illness defense on this one.

A Bemidji man Todd Burris accused of firing at two law enforcement officers near Frazee is now headed toward trial after pleading not guilty to multiple felony charges, including attempted murder of peace officers.

According to court records, the incident reportedly began as a domestic disturbance involving slashed tires and a firearm. Authorities say the suspect later led officers on a chase reaching speeds near 100 mph before stopping at a rest area near Frazee Mn.

Investigators say the suspect exited the vehicle and pointed a handgun at officers, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Squad cars were hit with bullets, shell casings were found at the scene, and body camera footage reportedly captured the aftermath as officers rendered aid.

The case also includes discussions of competency evaluations and a possible mental illness defense.

Small-town Minnesota has seen an alarming wave of violent cases lately. Domestic disputes, mental health crises, high-speed chases, guns, and trauma seem to collide more and more often. Thankfully, in this case, the officers survived.

Trial is currently scheduled for August.

Imagine opening your front door to what should’ve been an ordinary night with family… and never getting another one!

A 19-year-old Frazee MN teen, Bryson May, was murdered in front of his mother and family after two men reportedly broke into the home looking for someone else. Prosecutors say Bryson wasn’t even the intended target.

One of the men involved was just sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Cases like this leave a scar on an entire small-town community.

A family gathering turned into lifelong trauma in seconds. His mother witnessed it. His younger sister was reportedly pistol-whipped. And a young man lost his life over what authorities say was a dispute involving ma*****na and girls.

No matter what side of any argument someone is on, no disagreement should end with a family planning a funeral instead of making memories.

Justice can never bring Bryson back, but accountability matters. ⚖️

This is just crazy, my heart goes out to this womans family.

Domestic violence is a hard cycle to break unfortunately. Too many cases end in a tragedy like this one.

Court documents allege that 33-year-old Allen Michael Alberts delayed calling 911 after a fatal crash near Perham because he feared violating a domestic abuse no-contact order involving the woman who later died.

According to investigators, Alberts and the woman had been together at Suds Bar in Perham, mn before an argument during the drive home allegedly became physical. Alberts told investigators he got out of the truck and the woman drove away alone before crashing.

Rather than immediately calling 911, court documents state Alberts searched for her, brought her home, attempted to revive her in a bathtub, and later transported her to Perham Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased at 5:45 a.m.

Investigators say Alberts and his mother initially gave accounts inconsistent with the evidence and later admitted they had lied because Alberts did not want to get in trouble or go to jail.

Court records also show Alberts had prior assault convictions and was facing a pending domestic assault by str👀ngulation charge involving the same woman.

He has now been charged with: • Second-degree man*slaughter
• Felony violation of a domestic abuse no-contact order

At what point should repeated v*iolence, restraining orders, and prior charges start being taken more seriously before another life is lost?

FARGO, ND:
A Fargo man has now been arrested for a shooting.

What’s interesting: this incident happened January 24th, but the arrest is only being reported now in mid-March.
Makes you wonder what happened in the weeks between the shooting and the arrest.

Police say Javon Blades got into a fist fight with another man at the Petro Serve gas station on University Drive South back on January 24th.
According to court documents, the fight stopped briefly when a store clerk yelled at the men and started recording. But moments later the fight resumed and Blades allegedly pulled out a pistol and shot the victim twice in the leg before running away.
The victim was taken to the hospital.
Investigators say surveillance video and a previous booking photo helped identify Blades.

A woman from Tennessee spent four months in jail after police used facial recognition software that wrongly identified her as a bank fraud suspect.

Angela Lipps was arrested at gunpoint while babysitting children and held without bail.

Months later, bank records proved she was in another state when the crime happened and the charges were dismissed.
By then she had lost her home, car, and missed months with her grandchildren.

So the question is simple… Is there any justice for her? Or does someone just lose everything because of a mistake?

Landis was initially indicted for criminally negligent homicide, but the charge was later dismissed in federal court after the judge ruled he had immunity as a federal agent performing his duties!

A woman was simply riding her bike home from work when she was hit and killed by an on-duty DEA agent who reportedly ran a stop sign.
Her family says there has been “no justice.”
Stories like this leave people asking a difficult question:
Does accountability depend on who you are… or who you work for?
A life was lost.
A family was shattered.
And many are still asking where the justice is.

Marganne Allen, 53, was riding her bicycle home from work in Salem, Oregon on March 28, 2023 when she was struck and killed at an intersection.

The driver was DEA agent Samuel Landis, who was on duty at the time.

Investigators said the vehicle appeared to run a stop sign before the crash.

What are your thoughts on this? 6 months in jail & a $50 fine! It was an accident but at the same time what example is the state, county setting? It's ok to be on your phone while driving! A basic speeding ticket in MN is over $100 usually!
I’m not sharing this to attack anyone. I’m sharing it because it makes me think about how fragile life is and how important it is that we take driving seriously.
One moment of distraction can change many families forever.

JUSTICE RADAR🚨

A story out of Arkansas is raising some serious questions about justice, the legal system, and what a parent would do to protect their child.

In 2024, Aaron Spencer was arrested after fatally shooting Michael Fosler, a 67-year-old man who had been charged with sexually abusing Spencer’s teenage daughter.

Authorities say Fosler had already been charged with multiple sex-related crimes involving the girl, but he was out on bond at the time.

According to investigators, Spencer confronted Fosler after finding his daughter with him and shot him during the encounter. Spencer called 911 after the shooting and was later charged with second-degree murder.

But the story didn’t stop there.
While awaiting trial, Spencer ran for sheriff in his county… and won the Republican primary, defeating the current sheriff.
Now the man awaiting trial for murder could potentially become the county’s top law enforcement officer.

Some people see Spencer as a father who stepped in when the system failed to protect his child.

Others say taking justice into your own hands can never be justified.

One thing is certain… this case has people across the country debating where the line between justice and vengeance really is.
What do you think?

⚖️ Was this a desperate father protecting his child?

⚖️ Or should the justice system always be the one to decide?
