This season of life feels different.

Yes, I’m a restaurateur.
Yes, I own a kitchen.
Yes, I create food people love.

But I’m realizing more and more… I’m actually building FOOD SYSTEMS.

I’m helping create sustainability for restaurants, nonprofits, communities, urban agriculture programs, and food entrepreneurs because food touches EVERYBODY.

This conversation at the Business of Food Summit really allowed me to speak from a deeper place about food sovereignty, sustainability, access, dignity, and what it really takes to create long-term impact in our communities.

Detroit has some of the most innovative people in the country when it comes to food systems and I’m honored to be part of the conversation.

I was hospitalized for a little while recently, and being on the other side of things really shifted something in me.

The care.
The patience.
The way y’all show up for people every single day…

To the incredible staff at Henry Ford Hospital (W. Grand Blvd) and healthcare workers everywhere — thank you. Truly.

It gave me a whole new appreciation for what you do and reminded me why I move the way I move.

Every day from 3–5PM, people walk through our doors looking for one thing:
A hot meal. A moment of peace. A reminder that someone cares.

And we make sure they get it.
