This Saturday, we're kicking off Lions season the Eastern Market way.

The Lions are home for their second preseason game, and we're tailgating in the market. Grab a pour of Silver Lining, $15 pitchers of Detroit Import, and settle in. We'll have the game on so you don't need a ticket to be part of it. La Amapola's slinging food to keep you fueled all afternoon.

Silver Lining is a 4.5% American lager.

We first released it in 2020 under the name ████ ███ █████.
The original can had some pixel art on it. █████ ███████ saw it and let everyone know, publicly and correctly, that he had nothing to do with this brewery. Fair.

It sold out that day. Every can. We also stopped brewing it that day.

It came back a month later with a boring label nobody had a problem with. In 2024, we renamed it Brand New Lager because, for once, things were going well. That didn't last long. It is now called Silver Lining.

Brewed for people who spend every Sunday and some Mondays in the fall feeling a specific way about a specific team we are not at liberty to identify. The can is blue and silver for reasons our attorney has asked us not to elaborate on.

This one started with a grandfather's hatchet.

That is the story behind Motor City Axe, and behind David, who was building tools for people who actually use them long before he was building a beer with us. He is also one of our Elephant Parade members and investors.

Annual Josh Palmer appreciation post. Year SEVEN.

Every big moment we have had has happened inside those seven years. Josh has been behind that bar for every single milestone, and for all the big Saturdays and regular-filled Wednesday trivia nights in between.

He is the heartbeat of the Eastern Market taproom. He knows your name, your order, and exactly how wrong you are about the Tigers at the deadline. He remembers what you drank in 2021. He remembers the argument you lost in 2023.

Seven years in, we have never seen him walk in with a bad attitude, and we have given him reasons to. There are people who come to that taproom for the beer and even more people who come for Josh. He is genuinely glad you showed up, every time, and you can tell.

Appreciate everything you do for our beer, our team, and everyone who pulls up a stool on Riopelle. Stop in tomorrow for First Wednesdays and celebrate with him over a beer. His face is already on half the poles in this city. Might as well get Palmered in person.

Hazy Hatchet is back for another year with our friends at Motor City Axe, and this year he showed up in new clothes. Flannel, work boots, tusks, and a blade over the shoulder.

Inside: 5.8%, all Sabro hops. Coconut, tangerine, soft stone fruit, pillowy finish.

Cans come off the line tomorrow morning and land in the taproom the next day. You will not drink it fresher than this week.

First Wednesdays in Eastern Market returns 8/5, 6 to 9 PM.

On the corner at Winder & Riopelle, DJ Jenny La Femme () takes the decks. She’s a Detroit house and techno vet who’s played Movement and helped shape this city’s sound.

The whole district is in again. Shopping, food, drinks, vintage, and more, plus our usual run club and trivia, now with support from iHeartRadio. will also be back with their authentic Dominican and Latin Caribbean food.
