NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1035 AM CDT Sun Apr 30 2017

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
Western Alabama
Northern Mississippi

* Effective this Sunday morning and evening from 1035 AM until
700 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
A few tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY...An extensive line of storms will progress east from
Mississippi into Alabama through this afternoon. Damaging winds and
a few tornadoes will be possible.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles
east and west of a line from 30 miles west northwest of Muscle
Shoals AL to 65 miles southwest of Selma AL. For a complete
depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline update
(WOUS64 KWNS WOU2).

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.
