🌟 Summer Marketing Intern – Leonard’s Syrups (Detroit)

Are you creative, organized, and love bringing ideas to life?

Leonard’s Syrups — a proudly Detroit-based, family-owned company (serving the community for over 60 years!) — is looking for a Summer Marketing Intern to join our team in-office.

This is a hands-on role where you won’t just be “posting on social”… you’ll be creating real marketing materials, building campaigns, and seeing your work out in the field.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing:
• Designing flyers, posters, and marketing materials for our products (coffee, juices, soda, and more)
• Assisting with social media content creation and posting
• Taking photos and videos of products, installs, and behind-the-scenes moments
• Helping with promotions, campaigns, and new product launches
• Supporting branding projects (catalogs, signage, and more)
• Working closely with our team to bring fresh, fun ideas to life

✨ What We’re Looking For:
• A student or recent grad in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or similar
• Creative and comfortable with tools like Canva, Adobe, or similar design platforms
• Someone who enjoys both design work AND social media
• Organized, dependable, and willing to jump in wherever needed
• Must be able to work in-office daily (Detroit/Hamtramck area)

Tom Evans and Steve Banas are busy working in the crib building and repairing equipment, pulling parts, and working behind the scenes to make sure our service techs have what they need to get the job done. This means being surrounded by sharp objects, trip hazards, and machinery. Steve protects himself wearing PPE and keeping a safe distance. The warehouse is a chaotic place at times, Tom and Steve are setting a great example to stay safe.

John Socha of the service department spends many service calls on the congested streets and alley ways of Ann Arbor. Here, he demonstrates the best way to give himself an easement when hooking up for a bulk CO2 fill or getting parts out of his van. Using cones and flashers is an excellent way to make yourself visible and create space from traffic. Way to set an example for our other field technicians, John!

New service technician Donovan Qualls demonstrates you don't need to be a long time team member to know safety. While doing a bulk CO2 fill, Donovan is wearing his PPE; gloves to protect his hands from a sharp fill end and frost, ear protection from the loud sound of the tank venting, and eye protection from CO2 venting. Practicing the fundamentals of safety and the fundamentals of bulk filling, Donovan looks to have a bright (and safe) future at Leonard's.

Jonathan Holm and Steve Chwalek take safety seriously in Grand Rapids. Our partners out west at Michigan Beverage use teamwork to remind each other to use PPE, as Steve demonstrates with eye protection when cutting into line, gloves to prevent cuts and open communication to prevent an incident. The is an excellent demonstration of working to protect each other on the job, something we at Leonard's must often consider when working on large jobs in the field or in this example, around the warehouse. Also, great camera work!
