Detroit, bigger isn’t always better. Sometimes you just want a grocery store that still knows how to be a neighborhood grocery store.
Lafayette Foods is a locally owned, family-operated grocery store that has been serving Detroit since 2011. We may not be the biggest store in the city, but we believe the little things still matter.
Customers should be able to find someone when they need help. Fresh departments should be checked and cared for every day. Shelves should be worked. Questions should be answered. And if something isn’t right, you should be able to speak to a real person and give us the opportunity to make it right.
Are we perfect? Absolutely not. We’ve made mistakes over the years too. But when you’re a neighborhood store, your customers aren’t just numbers on a spreadsheet. They’re the same people we see week after week, year after year.
That traditional neighborhood grocery-store mentality still matters to us: personal service, familiar faces, quality, convenience, and being accountable to the community we serve.
From fresh meat and produce to our deli, hot foods, sweet potato pies, groceries and everyday essentials, we’re working every day to give Detroit another choice.
You don’t always have to drive to the biggest store. Sometimes what you’re looking for is right in your own neighborhood.
