She wanted to get married at home in the yard, but we also wanted to have shelter in case of bad weather. Her dad had wanted a barn for a while, so her wedding was the perfect time to build one. He began the construction in January 2014 and with the help of friends and family, had it complete for the wedding on May 3, 2014. All of the construction took place on days off and weekends only. Through
the wintry weather, the work continued. It was built from wood that was salvaged and milled by her dad. The barn is situated on the Moore Family Farm in beautiful Dinwiddie County. The barn is 4,200 sq ft and two stories. It is decorated to match its rustic surroundings. It has tables and seating for 80 downstairs and can accommodate up to 200 people, as well as 2 "outhouse style" restrooms. Until now, the barn has not been used for any other events. Because of such big demand and requests, we have decided to let others enjoy this beautiful venue. It is available for weddings, birthdays, showers, reunions, photo shoots, etc. Hours are by appointment only.
