Heart of Maine Homestead

Heart of Maine Homestead We utilize organic methods to produce our food. No synthetic fertilizers, no pesticides, no GMOs... None of those listed items are necessary for success!

A first-generation family homestead in Dexter, Maine where we're building our dream from the ground up, raising animals, growing food, and sharing the journey toward a more sustainable, self-sufficient life. We use our own compost and animal manure to amend and build the soil. We also strictly use only organic ingredients when making our bath and body products. We hope to one day be officially cer

tified organic, but know that until then, we will continue to use the same organic methods, continue to hold our products to high standards, and produce the best quality hygienic products for you!

This is our first ever full basket of apples from the homestead, and it feels pretty special 🍎

There’s something so rewarding about seeing the hard work pay off and being able to preserve food for our family straight from our own land.

We’re looking forward to putting these apples to good use, and the best part is… there are more still to come! 🙌🏻

It’s been feeling an awful lot like fall around here lately, with mornings dipping down to around 50°F each day. Something we’re both a little happy and a little sad about 🥲

With these cooler mornings, we figured it was about time to make a fresh batch of our Cinnamon Oat Soap for the season!

Freshly cut this morning and set aside to cure before they’re available for purchase again 🍂

Are you ready for fall yet, or are you hanging onto summer as long as possible? 😅

And that’s a wrap on 4 long days at the Piscataquis Valley Fair! 😁

We had our two littles in tow with us as usual, and got rained on Friday evening and yesterday while packing everything up! We had such a great time though.

One of our favorite parts of doing events like this is getting to see so many familiar faces and meeting new people along the way ❤️ Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, chatted with us, supported our business, or simply said hello!

We also decided to do something new and entered 13 of our home-canned goods into the fair for the very first time this year.

Somehow we came home with…

🏆 10 FIRST PLACE RIBBONS
🥈 3 SECOND PLACE RIBBONS

All 13 placed!! 😭

Canning is such a BIG part of how we preserve the food we grow and provide for our family throughout the year, so these ribbons mean a little extra to us. These aren’t things we made just for competition, they represent the same preserving, gardening, and homesteading skills we use right here at home year after year.

Needless to say, we’re pretty darn proud 🥹 ❤️

Thank you, Piscataquis Valley Fair, for a memorable year… rain and all! 🌧️😂

We’ve been a little quiet on social media lately, but things certainly haven’t been quiet here around the homestead!

☀️ Summer always seems to fly by, and this time of year keeps us especially busy… between the garden, food preservation, animals, events, everyday homestead life, and everything else that somehow finds its way onto the to-do list.

On top of allllll of that, we’ve also been busy working on quite a few things behind the scenes that we’re really excited to share with you down the road! ✨

For now, we wanted to pop in and share the rest of our 2026 event schedule. There are still several chances to come see us, shop in person, and say hello before the year is over.

Here’s where you can find us for the rest of the season, we hope to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones too! 🤗❤️

After many hours of painstakingly removing the pits from more than 25 pounds of cherries we harvested here on the homestead, we ended up with 12 pints of cherry BBQ sauce and 17 half-pints of cherry jam…all made in a single day! 🍒🙌🏻

It was a lot of work, but absolutely worth it. We’re so thankful we were able to preserve our cherry harvest for the year and that we can enjoy a little taste of summer long after the season is over ❤️

Next up… blueberries! 🫐 We have a big harvest waiting, and we’re looking for some new ideas. What’s your favorite way to preserve or use blueberries? We’d love to hear your favorite recipes in the comments!

One of the best compliments we heard today at the Bread Fair in Skowhegan was multiple customers calling our signature Chagaccino drink “life changing.” It made us laugh, but it also meant more to us than they probably realized ❤️

Whether it is a drink that completely makes someone’s day, a product that becomes part of their daily routine, or something handcrafted that simply brings a little joy, knowing that what we create makes a difference is one of the biggest reasons we do what we do!

We may be a small family homestead, but hearing how much people genuinely love and appreciate our products reminds us that even the little things can have a meaningful impact.

And yes… apparently this drink really is life changing 😂🙌🏻

100 custom wedding favors, all packed and ready for a very special day! ❤️🍁

There is something incredibly humbling about being chosen to be part of life’s biggest moments.

Whether it’s a wedding, bridal shower, baby shower, anniversary, or another special celebration… we’re honored every single time someone trusts us to create favors that their guests will remember.

Every bottle was carefully filled, labeled, paired with a custom-designed tag, hand-tied with twine, and packaged with care for its journey to the happy couple. Knowing they’ll be shared with family and friends on such an important day makes all of the work worthwhile! 💕

To everyone who has chosen to support our small family business, THANK YOU. Every order helps us continue living out our dream of building Heart of Maine Homestead, one handcrafted product at a time. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

If you’re planning an upcoming event, we’d love to help create custom favors for your special day. Feel free to send us a message, we’d be honored to be a small part of your celebration! ☺️🎉

Ever wonder what it’s like having a cow? 🐄🤔

Honestly, she’s basically a giant puppy that eats grass 😂

Lily loves attention, follows us around, enjoys scratches, and is perfectly happy spending the afternoon munching on fresh pasture.

Farm life isn’t always hard work, sometimes it’s just moments like this ❤️

Would you ever want a cow?!
