Our featured farm for August is Lesser Farms in Dexter, a name tied to this community's agriculture for generations.

Their beef comes from cattle fed on pasture 3/4 of the year, and finished on grain and hay grown right there on the farm. They don't buy outside feed, so they know exactly what goes into these animals. No added hormones, fillers, or preservatives. From there, it goes to Hillsdale County Meats, a USDA facility, and they handle all delivery and pickup themselves to make sure it's handled right the whole way. Every cut is individually vacuum sealed and frozen for freshness.

More on the Lesser family's history coming this month.
