Dressage by Jayne

Dressage by Jayne Dressage by Jayne offers training for horse and rider, from the very beginning, through more advance

Jayne Bailey runs Dressage by Jayne and is located in Dexter, MI, and is accepting a limited number of horses and clients for training. Jayne has been riding horses for 23 years, and in 2008, after many years of riding in different disciplines, she was called to Dressage as her discipline of choice. Jayne is a USDF Bronze Medalist, a goal accomplished on a horse she trained, and is a graduate of t

he MSU Horse Management Program. Jayne trained with Mette Rosencrantz, and has also trained with David Hunt, Lilo Fore, Patrick Burssens and Rebecca Knollman. In addition to her riding experience, Jayne spent time in Sweden, managing private riding facilities where she continued to gain a wealth of knowledge as well as develop an excellent eye and feel for horses. Jayne is kind and patient with her students, both human and equine. She thrives on seeing her students progress, find their confidence and reach their full potential. From the time of her first pony rides, Jayne has loved horses, and began taking riding lessons at 7 years old. In high school she was an active member of the equestrian team, and rode everything from saddle seat, to gymkhana. It was during her high school years that she was introduced to dressage and all that it does to improve every horse. Jayne now rides and trains dressage exclusively, and specializes in helping rebuild clear communication between horse and rider of any discipline. Let Jayne help you improve your riding and communication with your horse, through a calm, clear and supportive process. Jayne is happy to work with any type of horse, no matter their breed or previous training, and can help riders of any level.

Thanks for thinking of Hero earlier today! Thanks to your thoughts and prayers, he made it through a busy morning at the barn (see previous post). Now he is back home recovering from all his hard work, which he can prove he did by the bit of dirt on his nose 🤣

Hero on quality control duty for night check. So good to know that we are up to standard 🤣

When you, a big dog, finally get to go see those "really big dogs" that live in the back, but you realize you may not be able to hack it when it comes to play time 🤣🤣 at least the one that is matchy matchy with you is chill.

Also, let me introduce you all to Hero (formerly Captain)! My friend "tricked" me into fostering this sweet boy by sending me some very cute videos, and it was literally impossible to say no! I really can't say enough good things about this guy. He has been an absolute gentleman with all our animals, including the cat, and very well behaved overall. He will be with me for a couple months while going through heartworm treatment before he is offered for adoption. So you guys can look forward to more of Hero showing up in my feed for a while 🐶

Binzi is learning new things every day! Got to do a little ride while Zarya did some work as well, and of course, Binzi was a rock star about sharing the arena, even though it was only her 4th ride. Literally couldn't ask for a better brain 🧠🦄❤️

04/17/2026

A couple clips from Bravo's very first ride and his third ride (yes, with Zarya in the ring with us)! What a good boy! One of these days I'll get a good video clip 😅

I'm just so pleased with the attitude that he and Binzi both have about working together. They are just totally game for the next thing we try, every time! We are still in the "just cruising around at the walk for a couple minutes" stage, but what else could you ask for in terms of a brain!

A big "thank you!" to Deb for helping me with the +R work that improved Bravo's focus to make this transition smooth, and being our ground person for ride number 1! And thanks to Tracy for being game for me to hop on Bravo during her lesson!

(See the photo at the end to see how much bigger Bravo is than Zarya... 😭😭)
