Do you want to share some holiday love with your local farmers? One awesome way to do that is so ridiculously easy that you may have never thought of it. Here it is: like and share. That is, "like" their pages and posts and "share" their posts. Seriously, that is a HUGE help. (OK, buying their products is also a very huge help, but not all farmers have products this time of year!)

We are hiring! Want to learn sustainable farming from a "very small" farmer by pitching in and helping out? Seeking help 1-2 days a week, flexible when, 4-8 hours, probably afternoons. I pay $14/hr. Looking for someone (preference for those interested in sustainable farming) to work alongside me for the first few months, w**d, water, shovel soil, transplant plants, harvest, etc., then gradually shift to more independent work, as possible, this summer. The current farm help (see pic), while they are trying their level best, may not be enough to get us through this season 😄

Being a single mom and a farmer is extremely tough in many ways, no doubt. But when my daughter said to me this week, “mommy, I want to be a farmer when I grow up, just like you.” …every bit of extra sweat is now 100% worth it.

I love making salad kits! Today’s salad kits are being delivered to the Community Food Rescue in Poolesville.

LETTUCE DANCE! We harvest in itsy bitsy batches, only one or two baskets at a time, so the lettuce goes from field to washed to cooler in 20 minutes or less... which means it lasts way longer in the fridge. I say, "lettuce dance" to that!

Sweetest fresh spinach in the world growing in our high tunnel right now! Before starting to seed new greens for the spring, I think it's important to EAT EAT EAT everything that has over-wintered! 😊
