This morning we had the honor to shine a light on the extraordinary work of our agricultural professionals who protect our natural resources and provide the literal food on our tables, and to celebrate Joan Kleinman's extraordinary career. It is a privilege to be part of a group of fantastic community partners and individuals who make Montgomery County such a wonderful place to live.
For National Agricultural Day, we were joined by Manna Food Center, Montgomery County Office of Agriculture, Montgomery County Farm Bureau, Fresh Mama Farms, Lewis Orchards, Montgomery Agricultural Producers, Montgomery County Food Council. Thank you to everyone for coming out and sharing your experiences on the resilience and tenacity of the agricultural community.
And to Joan, thank you for being a friend, a mentor, and an exemplary pillar of what it means to be a public servant. All Marylanders have benefited from your service. Congrats on a very well-deserved retirement Joan!

Fresh Mama Farms is mama operated, mama loved, and brings you the whole salad bowl, featuring lettuce mix, tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, radishes, and more. Mama says, eat your veggies... especially when they're grown nearby, on this 5 acre farm.
Tomorrow's market will feature fresh local produce from Spruce Run Farm and Fresh Mama Farms. There will also be local wine, local meats, baked goods, and farmstead cheeses, plus amazing artisan goods too!
Fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, along with local honey are available at this Friday's market from Fresh Mama Farms and Spruce Run Farm.
Today's our second market day of the season, and today we feature the Pop-up Poutine food truck and live music by Amanda Thorstad.

Brunswick resident Lorien of Fresh Mama Farms is growing lots of beautiful produce that she'll be sharing with us at each market this summer.
Today is Opening Day of our enhanced second season. The good folks of Brunswick were so good to us last year that we decided to double the number of market days this year.
In addition to the Final Friday of each month, we'll also be open the 2nd Friday from 4 to 7 PM with these fabulous vendors:

We were so sad when Jared of Wildflower Farm CSA decided to return to New England after last season. However, the awesome news is that Brunswick resident Lorien of Fresh Mama Farms has taken over where Jared left off and will be bringing lots of fresh produce to the market this year. Get to know her when the market returns on Friday, May 14.
