Good morning y’all! 🐰🌿

It’s a new week, and we’re continuing to make progress with our rabbit project! I’ve really enjoyed getting back into raising animals and learning more about the rabbit show world. There’s always something new to learn, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes us.

As we work toward building our rabbitry, we’re making some decisions about which rabbits will be staying and which will be moving on to new homes.

Good, cozy afternoon, y’all! 🐰🍂

It’s a slow, peaceful day here at Ross Acres. The rain has finally moved out, leaving us with cool temperatures and overcast skies. Definitely one of those days that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the quiet.

Yesterday, I attended my very first rabbit show as an observer, and I learned SO much! Coming from the poultry show world, it was interesting to see just how similar the two are, yet how different they can be. I saw rabbit breeds I didn’t even know existed and met some wonderful people who were more than happy to share their knowledge and experience. I even got invited to participate in a show this December!

I’m really looking forward to seeing where this new chapter in showing animals takes me. Poultry will always be my first passion, but for now, rabbits are giving me a way to stay involved in the show world while I work toward bigger things.

Sometimes life takes you in a different direction, but that doesn’t mean you have to leave behind the things you love. ❤️

Good morning yall!

Today we are prepping for gusty winds and lots of rain from hurricane Isaias. We’re way inland but the effects will still be here. We’re throwing grouse pellets down and fixing the roof on the rabbit cages.

Are you in the path of Isaias? If so, how are you preparing?

What’s an animal you swore you’d NEVER own, but somehow ended up with anyway?

Question of the day - What animal would you keep if you had all the land, permits, etc.?

One of my favorite animals that we have are western hognose! They have a big attitude but small bodies 😂. I actually have one ready for a new home! Shes normal with het coral. She can come with or without an enclosure. Eats like a champ! Message me if you are interested.

Well, it’s been a while.

When I lost my farm, I pretty much stopped using this page altogether. I wasn’t really sure what direction I wanted to take it, and honestly, it sucked trying to post farm content when I didn’t have my farm anymore.

But I’ve missed this page, and I’ve definitely missed having my own animal projects going.

So I’m bringing it back.

Things are going to look a little different for a while. I don’t have another farm yet, and these days I’m working with an urban yard and a whole lot less space. That’s where rabbits come in. They don’t require much room, but they still give me something I can raise, breed, learn from, and build on while I work toward having land again someday.

These two are the start of it. 🐇🐇

It’s definitely different from what this page used to be, but I’d rather work with the space I have than wait around for the “perfect” setup.

So… hi again. We’re back. And for now, we’ve got rabbits.
