Client Review: Harborside Custom Homes built our dream retirement home, and we could not be happier with the experience or the finished result. From the beginning, Chris Furtado the owner listened carefully to our needs and brought in a designer to help create a beautiful modern farmhouse that would work for us both now and in the future.
The floor plan includes a kitchen, living room, dining room, half bath laundry room and a first-floor suite and laundry room Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and an office. The finished walkout basement has another bathroom, a kitchenette, a family room, and French doors leading to a patio. At our request Chris incorporated handles into the shower and bath, making the home safer and more accessible should we need them in the future.
We wanted an open floor plan with plenty of natural light, and Chris delivered. Our windows are beautiful and fill the home with light. He also offered excellent suggestions for the stairway and railing, as well as the kitchen backsplash. The locally cut and milled Connecticut red oak floors are truly the star of the show, and the stonework surrounding our wood-burning stove is another wonderful feature.
Our sloped lot required extensive landscaping and retaining walls, which Chris completed using rocks found on our own property. He even traveled to Massachusetts to pick up gorgeous cobblestones for edging our walkway and gardens. That level of care and attention to detail can be seen throughout our entire property.
Chris was always accommodating, conscientious, hardworking, and easy to work with. He consistently had a smile on his face and made the building process a positive experience. We highly recommend Chris Furtado and Harborside Custom Homes to anyone looking for a skilled, thoughtful, and dependable custom home builder. We would not hesitate to work with him again.
