We received word this morning that due to current staffing challenges within the Police Department, along with 3 Officers currently out recovering from injuries sustained while on duty, that the Dighton Police Department is unable to compete in the softball game on Sunday May 31st at the cow chip. We are grateful for the work that they do and look forward to rescheduling that game in the future We are hoping for a speedy recovery of the injured officers and ask that everyone please keep them in your thoughts as they recover.

With that the game will go on as scheduled with a guest team.

The game is still on!! Unfortunately the Police had to step out of the game due to a few injuries to police officers. We are going to have a “guest team” in their place. Please wear blue to support the new team.

We would like to thank the Lopes Companies for the donation of mulch for our annual memorial clean ups. Year after year Lopes Companies has made this donation no questions asked. Through their generosity we are able to lay down new mulch at our flagpole at Station 1, our Firefighter/9-11 Memorial at Station 2 and the Dutra Memorial located on the island at the intersection of Main and Pleasant Streets. We truly appreciate the unwavering support of the Lopes Companies throughout the years.

Thank you to Representative Justin Thurber and Kevin Conlon who stopped by Station 1 today to drop off pizza for lunch for personnel in the station. We were able to have great back and forth conversations with Rep. Thurber about state and local concerns. This gesture and your time mean a lot to us and is very much appreciated.
