Some people aren’t just customers—they become family.
Roughly a week ago, our JJ’s Diner family lost one of our own.
Adrian wasn’t just a regular. Every single morning, no matter how hard it became to walk, he found his way through our doors. We’d see that familiar beard, that wicked walking staff, and that unforgettable grumpy look on his face. Around here, we lovingly called him our Gandalf, because he looked like he’d walked right out of The Lord of the Rings.
He could be a grumpy old man, and he loved giving our servers a hard time. But that’s exactly what made him… Adrian. Beneath that gruff exterior was a man who made every morning a little brighter. His smile, when it came, was worth waiting for, and his presence became part of what made JJ’s feel.
But to us, that chair will always belong to Adrian. It will forever remind us of the countless cups of coffee, the laughs, the playful complaints, and the friendship we were blessed to share.
Adrian, thank you for making JJ’s a better place simply by walking through our doors each day. You left an imprint on our hearts that will never fade.
We’ll miss your bearded face, old man.
Rest easy, our Gandalf. May your coffee always be hot, your staff always be steady, and may you know just how much you were loved by your JJ’s family.
You will never be forgotten. ❤️
