Hubs made 2 batches of homemade spicy tortilla soup, and I made a big batch of homemade savory chicken and vegetable soup to carry us through the storm. Yum. And done!

I think he was already missing Lovely. They spent a lot of time together every day. This pic was before the very last milking the last evening she was here. We're a little out of sorts.
Sure hope she's happy in her new home.

A new chapter for LPF. Cows are at their new homestead. And I was able to mow practically everything! I left the beautiful iron w**d. These pics don't quite capture the purple beauty. Its not good for the hay fields so it'll be mowed before going to seed, but it was a burst of dramatic color that the monarch butterfly and I enjoyed. Another beautiful gift from the Creator.

EDIT: And, they're gone. Sad to see them go. They are awesome cows.

Our most wonderful milk cow, Lovely, (5/8/21) and her heifer calf Faith (10/3/24), are ready for a new pasture. Both are A2A2 Guernsey. We AI'd Lovely 6/29 and haven't seen cycles. Should be due May, 7, 2026. Bull was A2A2 national champ, Guernsey, Vernon. She is registered and had been tested when we bought her. Lovely has 4 good quarters, and is easy to milk. We use a machine, but she allows hand milking.

Faith will be 1 year old in October. She could be bred soon. They both have excellent temperments and are awesome animals.

If you're nearby, We have a wonderful clientele for almost all of the 4.5 + gallons per day she produces. They are hoping to keep milk coming!
(Ready made business... no swimming in milk like we did hahaha!)

It's dark this morning.....and here comes the rain!
It has been a very wet spring/summer this year.
Plus we lost another tree.
