If you are looking for flashy and downright adorable, Ronnie is your guy! He’s roughly 15.2-3hh late 4 y/o Dutch Harness Horse Cross (possibly crossed with some draft?). He’s been in a professional training program since January to learn the basics and gain confidence both on the ground and under saddle. He has shown that he is ready to find that special person who can continue his training to help him reach his full potential. He is a young horse and also had it rough at some point early on in life so he is only being offered to someone relaxed and patient who has lots of experience training young horses. Someone who also understands DHH’s would be ideal. Even though he can be suspicious of new people, Ronnie warms up quickly when cookies are involved! He is a total sweetheart and tries very hard to make his rider happy. He’s very food motivated and has responded brilliantly to positive reinforcement with training cookies. Ronnie initially had some fears surrounding mounting, which we took the time to work on and he will now stand quietly and confidently to be mounted. Because he is young, he is still working on finding balance, gaining strength and the ability to carry himself. He has a big trot and his canter is lovely and ground covering. He will ride in the indoor, outdoor arena, and in our grass dressage arena and jump field. He’s been getting a good Dressage foundation and, because he’s only 4, he has just lightly jumped over some small fences in the arena and cross-country and he was both brave and showed athleticism. This guy has a lot of potential. I see him being very successful in the Dressage arena but he would also make a super little Event horse. He lives out 24/7 in a field with other young geldings and is playful but never mean or bossy. He’s barefoot and up to date on everything. He stands quietly to be groomed and is easy to tack up and has no vices. He’d be perfect for someone experienced who is looking for a really nice horse to bring along. Asking mid fours.
