Bjorn Apiaries has a long history of education and providing quality queens and bees. Behind the scenes, we have founded National Honey Bee Day, PennApic and the Pa. Backyard Beekeepers Association, and the Northern States Queen Breeders Association. We have also been raising mason bees for those not willing or allowed to keep full size honey bee colonies. Bjorn Apiaries will NOT be offering any bee package service for 2026. As with all things, change does happen. And we decided now was that time to make some changes.

We will update our website in the coming days with information for 2026 season, with nucs, queens, equipment, etc.

We want to say thank you to our many customers over the years that bought packages from us. It was always a highlight of our bee season.
We recommend contacting your local bee club for any potential suppliers. Or just ordering direct as some places have much better mailing procedures as compared too years ago. I am not personally recommending any individual suppliers.

We hope you have a wonderful upcoming 2026 bee season!

This picture does not indicate it as obvious as it sometimes does. But after a snow, as it starts to warm up, you can get good at looking down your rows of hives and seeing how fast the snow melts from one to the next. It usually indicates which ones are alive or dead.
In the picture the bigger hive is alive. The other two never had bees this past year. And for as cold as it is, one just flew back in the good hive.
But the snow tells the story.
