Collins will pull and announce the winner on November 23rd during the last day of the Smash Out CF Pickleball Tournament. You do not have to be present to win.
Hello Fall! Finally, a little rain and cooler temps! Next week is November, and that means it’s Smash Out Cystic Fibrosis Pickleball Tournament and Fundraiser time in Moultrie, GA.
For those of you who don’t know, my granddaughter, Collins Blease, is 6 years old and has Cystic Fibrosis. She is such a special little girl and a force to be reckoned with! There is nothing that can slow her down. Her most recent journey is taking diving lessons at the Moss Farms Diving Facility in Moultrie. God bless the training coaches there! Pa and Gma hold our breath while watching, but she is fearless on those diving boards. This exercise, her family’s determination, and the strides toward a cure that the CF Foundation continues to make are what keep her as healthy as possible and our hope for a CURE alive.
For those that remember last year, as a part of this fundraising event, Thompson Farms donated a Whole Hog Package that was raffled off — congrats again to our winner, Julie Carter! We hope you have enjoyed your pork. We raised over $2,000 with this raffle alone, and we are so thankful to all who purchased tickets or donated to our attempt to wipe out Cystic Fibrosis. With much excitement, we have decided to do it again.
This Whole Hog Package is a $620 value of approximately 140 lbs. of premium pork. Check out our website, www.thompsonfarms.com, for a list of items included in this package. This raffle will be pick-up only at the farm here in Dixie. Each raffle ticket will be $25, or 4 tickets for $90. ALL proceeds will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The raffle will begin on November 3rd and run through November 22nd. Collins will pull and announce the winner on November 23rd during the last day of the Smash Out CF Pickleball Tournament. You do not have to be present to win.
As a side note, I watched a few of the pickleball matches last year, and let me tell you… these participants are serious about this competition! Even Collins’ mom, Brooke, was the Chrissy Evert of the pickleball court that day 😊 (She was before your time, Brooke, but she was tops in her day!)
A Venmo account has been set up for this fundraiser, or you may also purchase tickets at the farm.
Venmo:
When we attend the local CF fundraisers, we see new members in attendance almost every year, which is not what we hope and pray for — but until the CURE is found, new members are a fact. However, the future is brighter each passing year for those living with CF, and we know the CURE is just a breath away.
Prayer is our most powerful tool, and we thank everyone who has and will continue to pray for a Cure for our sweet girl and all of those affected by this disease.
Thank you,
Donna Storey
