Waldo County Bounty sent in 8 adults and 9 kids to glean berries today. They took 36.5 pounds for various food programs.

Next three days (Thurs., Fri., Sat. Aug. 20-22) are LAST CALL for picking our organically-grown high-bush blueberries. Open hours 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. all three days, $5 per pound. Then we'll call it a season, and go about other tasks on our to-do lists.
Still lots of berries on the bushes in the field, but just a few people coming out the last few days to pick them. It's been a good year overall, best berries and bigger crowds this year, so we are happy blueberry growers. But it's time.

SCHEDULE CHANGE: We'll be CLOSED Wednesday, Aug. 19, due to out-of-state friends popping in. Re-Opening Thurs. thru Sat. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A visual inventory check this morning (Tues., Aug. 18) showed that our organically-grown high-bush blueberries not done yet. Yes, our smaller patch, the one we call Blueberry Circle, is almost picked out, with only a few quarts left on those 50 bushes. HOWEVER, in our bigger field further down the farm road, our few hundred late-ripening varieties, particularly the tall Jerseys, are loaded with ripe clusters, with some berries that are still ripening, this late in the season. So, best picking is in the six or so rows closest to the farm road on that hillside.
That means it's not too late to pick fresh for those pancakes or pies, or to pick for freezing to enjoy over the winter. $5 per pound. Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Saturday, weather permitting, closed Sunday, Aug. 23. After that we'll have to wait and see.

Much-needed rain coming Monday, Aug. 16, so we're CLOSED for the day. On Tuesday, Aug. 17, we'll be back open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for you to pick what's left of our organically-grown high-bush blueberries.
Quite a few people took advantage of our four-day 50/50 share option, which helped clear the blueberry fields of lots of very-ripe berries. So, Tuesday and for the rest of the season, we're back to charging pickers ($5 per pound). Crowd size, and what they pick in the next few days, will determine when the fields are done for the year, possibly as soon as later this week or weekend.
It's been a banner year, welcome after last year's drought. So far our pounds-picked numbers are double those of last year. As David has been saying, our resident native bumblebees worked their bumbles off pollinating those blossoms this past spring.

Open Sat. & Sun. (Aug. 15-16) 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for picking our organically-grown high-bush blueberries. Banner picking day Friday, with a nice crowd of both paying PYO pickers ($5 per pound), and share-pickers (you pick, we keep half of what you picked, you take home your half no-charge).
Using our share, we have packed up berry boxes, available at the check-in tent, pints ($5) and quarts ($9), for those who don't have the time or inclination to venture into our fields.

Three beautiful high-bush blueberry-picking days coming up! Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Aug. 14-16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. $5 per pound. (Monday looks stormy.) Patches are still loaded with yummy ripe berries, in clusters on the bushes.
AND, thanks to our 50/50 picking option, this morning we have five pre-picked quarts available, $10 each at the check-in tent. (We will reserve quarts if you call ahead.) Supply going forward is understandably unpredictable, since it will depend on how many customers take us up on our NEW OPTION: Pick, share your harvest 50/50 with "the house," and take your half home FREE OF CHARGE.

Announcing our NEW Pick-&-Share option for our Pick-Your-Own organically-grown high-bush blueberries.
Option #1 -- Pick our berries, pay $5 per pound, take them home and enjoy.
Option #2 -- Pick our berries, share your harvest with us 50/50, take your half home FREE OF CHARGE. We will deal with our half -- sell some quarts at the tent? -- fill our own freezer? -- whatever, our choice.
There are just still SO MANY ripe berries on the bushes in our two patches. We've had the same size crowds as in previous years, and those customers have already picked dozens more quarts than all of last year. It would be a shame for the hundreds of pounds of luscious berries to go to waste. We don't know how long the ripe berries will hold, although cooler weather is predicted, which should help extend the season.

Bright and sunny this morning, great berry-picking weather. So we're OPEN today, Sunday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., tomorrow (Monday) and the rest of the week, 9 a.m to 4 p.m., weather permitting. Our organically-grown high-bush blueberries are loaded with clusters of yummy blues, $5 per pound.
NOTE: We're more than half-way through our season, so don't wait too long. Years ago we had berries to pick until the end of August, but last year, with the heat and drought, the berries were all picked and our season ended Aug. 11. At this point we estimate there are still hundreds of pounds out there waiting for you. At least another week to go this year? Hope so. Two weeks? Maybe. Plan accordingly.

A lovely, soaking rain in Dixmont this morning, looks like the storm clouds will stick around until at least noon, leaving soggy bushes and berries. So, we're CLOSED today, Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, for picking our organically-grown high-bush blueberries.
Iffy forecast for tomorrow, but we'll plan on being OPEN Sunday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., unless otherwise noted here.
