F4 pullet from a landrace breeding project, I’ve been working on. I’m Finally getting the traits I’m selecting for locked in. It’s always a great feeling when your vision starts to take shape. The process of creating is my favorite part of homesteading.

Got new life on the homestead today! My Meishan sow’s first litter. 4 on the ground so far, and more on the way. she is doing great! I love this breed, and the piglets are so cute. They look like baby Asian elephants.

16 weeks and already showing a lot of promise as a stock dog. She has the brains, lot of eye, bite, head and heel. She is extremely controlled and confident with stock for a pup, with natural wide outcast, sets her self up naturally. She is going to be a joy to train!

7 month old Meishans! Expecting first litter mid November. I absolutely love this breed. They are a perfect breed for homesteads, pasture raised, and running multiple species together for mob grazing. They are highly prolific, very Docile, medium size max out 350-400, fast growth rate for a heritage breed, disease resistant, and they don’t eat much compare to meat crosses Iv raised before. They don’t challenge fences, and do very little rooting, the rooting they do is swallow, and generally isolated to an area. If they are on good pasture they generally don’t root at all. This Chinese breed dates back 5,000 years and is the oldest know domestic breed of pigs. They are Critically Endangered, and their genetics are in need of preservation.

Brothery love! I’m proud of theses pups, and extremely impressed with this breed. 7 months old and I can officially call them working stock dogs. They are a great all around farm dogs! I use them to work my Soay sheep. Which typically are very hard to work with sheep dogs. They don’t flock tight like modern wool breeds. They behave much more like cattle when you put pressure on them.
