It’s a frosty morning here, our heifers that will be calving in the next few months are out grazing. Daniel has been working on our Bobcat replacing some stubborn seals in the evenings lately and this fence row is looking so much better after a long weekend of brush and tree cutting, tearing out an old fence, and the start of putting new posts and wire. We’ve had the week off of fence building and I’m sure the kids are all ready to jump back in tomorrow and finish it up 😂 😂.

We’ve had this group of fall born calves that have been escaping under their electric fence since they were first born and I call them the calf gang. They stay fairly close but we’ve caught them in our barns and shop when the doors are open or in the woods beside their pen 🙈. Older cows, heifers, and bulls are all good with a hot wire and stay where they need to be but calves just go under and this group seems to do as they please. 🙈

Our Spring bulls are growing good!! If you’re going to be looking for a bull for your herd let us know as these three will be ready to go in the next couple months. We have two blacks and one red available.
The fall calves are also growing good and always waiting for a feed bucket to make its way to them 😉. Daisy (the farm dog) is ready always for feeding time and loves riding around looking for squirrels. 😂.
I was proven wrong that we did actually have one more cow to calve before February and we had a new little bull calf early this morning. It’s a bit chillier today of course but he seems to be doing great!

Happy New Year from our herd to yours! We haven’t taken time to share much lately but we’re going to try to share a few pictures from the day and a quick journal a few times a week if I can remember.

It was back to work and school here today and this time of year it’s a little more difficult to see the cattle all in the daylight so we do a lot of checking and feeding in the dark. There’s been 6 calves born in the past week and a half and the rest should start calving around the first of February. Here’s to hoping the weather stays just like today for when they decide to calve 😉

Registered Lim-Flex, proven, very docile, sound footed, moderate frame, easy calving(we bought him for our “heifer bull” and he’s definitely a good one, will add muscle and hardiness to your calves (purchased him from Hager Cattle Company from North Dakota). These ladies have went to their new farm! Thank you to everyone who shared or told others about them, we appreciate each of you!

We have 5 fall calving cows for sale. 2- 3yr olds, 1-5yr old, 1-6yr old, 1-9yr old. All of them raise good calves every year, good udders, calm and easy to work. All are registered. For sale: 2 Bred heifers, Registered LimFlex, good EPDs, due to calve at the end of August and September. Very gentle and easy to work, they should make excellent cows in your herd. We have had a busy but good week! The first fair and cattle show of the summer, the animals did great and the kids had fun so it was a success! Brooke is showing a Spring heifer, and Kaitlyn has a Spring bull and heifer.

Thank you Miller County Fair for putting on a good show! If you’re local, go to Eldon tonight and buy a beef, hog, ham or bacon from their hardworking 4H and FFA kids!

The girls get a little break and next up will be the Missouri State Fair August 17-21, and then the younger kids will join in the fun Sept 2 & 3 in Vienna with their Young spring heifers.

DCAM JUNO 108J Kaitlyn has been working with him for a while and he’s ready for show season, but probably more ready for getting out with the cows and working 😉.

He’s a good looking bull with great EPDs, he’s long and thick, very calm, sired by AHCC Easy Rider and out of an excellent dam here on our farm.

He’s sold and heading out to his new farm as soon as show seasons over this summer, but we will have a few more herd sire prospects in our upcoming group of calves. Let us know if you’ll be in the market for a new bull!

Show-Me-Select Bred heifers for sale!

We are selling two bred heifers in the Central Missouri Show Me Select sale TOMORROW evening, May 20th, 6pm in Vienna MO (the sale will also be on DV auctions if interested in that option)

Both heifers are registered Limflex, have had all vaccinations, will calve at 2 yrs, and meet all requirements for the Show-Me- Select program. Our heifers will sell separately in the sale. The red heifer is AI bred to WULFs Absolute(a low birthweight easy calving, Angus heifer bull). The black heifer is bred to one of our herd bulls, AHCC 628F (one of our herd bulls, a very good LimFlex bull we love for easy calving, good growing, thick calves). Both heifers are due to calve at the end of August/beginning of September.
