Wagyu beef, Berkshire pork, lamb, chicken, eggs, turkey, duck eggs, wool, raw honey, milk soap, tallow. Windsweep Farm is located on the gently rolling farmland plains, northwest of Dixon,IL. Owned and operated by the Sheaffer family for 70 years, the fourth generation now carries on the tradition of animal husbandry. Animals at Windsweep are raised naturally and humanely with no hormones or anti

biotics.Antibiotics are only used when needed for recovery from injury or illness. Feed for the animals is homegrown and harvested, except for extra vitamins, minerals, and protien that the livestock need to maintian a balanced diet. Livestock are pasture-raised and non confined.

Farm Heritage Day 2026 at East Jordan Church. This is the 19th year of the event. We have been bringing the farm animal petting zoo for nearly every one.

We had a fun week at the Whiteside County Fair! The boys and I showed dairy cattle together. We did well! Landon won Reserve Grand Champion Sr. Dairy Animal with his Jr 2year old Guernsey cow, Caramel Apple. My brown Swiss fall heifer calf, Trixie, took home Grand Champion Jr Dairy Animal. This was Colin’s first year showing dairy. He won first in his class with his guernsey winter calf, Caramel Corn. The boys did a great job training their calves and doing what it takes to go to a show! Side note: the 3 guernsey are all sisters!

After 25 years of carrying milk buckets from the barn to the milkhouse, I finally made an upgrade…pipeline and milk tank😅! Milk comes right into the milkhouse, closed system. Then into the jars where it is cooled to seal.

Variety group! It’s a little fun it have some variety now and then. Honey(guernsey), Finesse (Ayrshire guernsey cross but looks like an Ayrshire), Quincey (Holstein/guernsey cross but looks like a Holstein), and Gretel (Brown Swiss). Not shown are Merry, Maud, Lila, Pineapple, Vanilla (all brown swiss) and Caramel and Caramel Candy (Guernsey).

I can see spring in the cream! This is my cream separator. Cream comes out the right spout and skim milk out the left. Magic! See how yellow the cream is? The color comes from the fresh spring grass the cows are grazing. Expect rich yellow butter, naturally! We have raw whole milk (also A2 options), raw cream, and raw butter available!

My counter recently…freshly foraged golden oysters (to be sautéed with wild onions), brownies by Evelyn, wheat bread dough rising, and fresh made mozzarella from this mornings milking.
