I’m beyond thrilled to share this news: I’m opening a menswear, stationery and gifts shop, across the street and a couple doors down from Bloomy. It’s called Dapper Fellows.
In the nearly four years since Bloomy opened on Cedar (plus another year as a resident pop up HudCo | Coworking and Event Space ), my love for cheese, community, and local agriculture has only deepened. But so has my love of doing business right here in Dobbs Ferry, where I live with my family, where my kids go to school, and where the energy of something new rooted in history, humility, tradition and innovation has begun to flourish.
So when I began to think about the next phase for Bloomy, I hit on the idea that growth for this little cheese shop might not mean opening another cheese shop somewhere else. It might mean opening another type of business in the neighborhood, another reason to come downtown, a way to keep dollars local, to find a special, heartfelt gift that comes with a story, and to express yourself, all under the same umbrella of community, craft and independent producers that underpins Bloomy.
There are a bunch of changes coming to Bloomy too, like an improved online ordering system and delivery (finally!), but in the meantime I wanted to get the word out about Dapper Fellows and let you know that we’ll be at Ferry Festa this Saturday in front of (or maybe even slightly inside) the new shop at 20 Cedar Street.
