You may have noticed that I have been very slack about making posts for about 6 weeks. It started with my brother-in-law, who has been my saving grace and farmhand on the farm since we've started this journey. He had a very scary ordeal after a simple procedure that nearly cost him his life, where he was airlifted for emergency surgery. He has had a slow recovery, but thank goodness he's okay. We hired another farmhand last summer, and he has been wonderful at stepping up and doing the extra duties. David's father spent his final month pretty much at the hospice home, where we spent a lot of time. My grandmother took another fall that put her next door to David's father in hospice. The day Dwain passed, my grandmother was sent home, where she rapidly declined. We've spent the last 4-5 days being told she is hours from passing. It's just been heartbreaking watching her hold on. My oldest son had a scary diagnosis on his back that was confirmed not as scary with the specialist. Needless to say, we've had our stressful days for a while now. All the stress and sadness have come with some very exciting news. We are expecting our first grandchild! We are over the moon excited!

They’re never amused that I wake them up before turning out the lights.
Zeb has always preferred to go to bed earlier but he’s also always awake when I enter in the mornings. Zeke has always preferred to stay up later and the last to crawl out in the mornings.

The little things that make you happy. I did not want permanent panels over the windows due to cleaning reasons. Hubby thought the same thing so they built frames around them to where they will be padlocked shut but to where we can open and clean them as needed.

I am super proud of this boy! I told you all he had become one of my favorites due to his chill, mellow personality. I was hoping he didn’t prove me wrong trying to get him up that steep ramp into the back of the van, but he took it like a champ. Super sad to see him leave, but excited for his new adventure at Serenity Acres ESVA.
