🌾 Hello friends from Cedar Hill Farm! 🌾

It’s been a little while since we’ve checked in, but we sure are looking forward to those cooler temps finally arriving. 🥵 With these triple-digit days, it’s tough to get much done in the garden. We’ve got the ground disked and ready to till, and once things settle down, we’ll be planting new seeds for the season ahead. 🌱✨

The next couple of weeks will keep us busy with weddings, and what a blessing that is! Each time we go, we’re reminded of the joy of seeing two lives come together as one. Every wedding makes me think back to the day Charles and I said “I do.” Over 20 years later, our love and faith continue to grow stronger each day. We feel truly blessed that God brought us together to walk this life side by side. 💕

🌾 Hey Friends! Just a quick update from us 🌾

We’re still here — it’s just been a little crazy lately! Between researching and planning what seeds we want to plant for the fall garden and me catching some kind of summer flu (trying to kick it!), things have been a bit slower than usual.

We hope y’all are doing well! I know many of you are in full swing getting ready for the first day of school — we’re praying for a safe, smooth, and joyful school year for all the students, teachers, and parents out there. 🍎✏️🙏

🌾💛 Hey Friends! Just Wanted to Say Hi 💛🌾

We hope y’all are having a good start to your week! We had such a sweet time at Camp Meeting—got to see so many familiar faces and even made a few new friends along the way. The Holy Spirit was really moving in the services we attended, and it was such a blessing to see folks give their hearts to the Lord. 🙌

With all the excitement and running back and forth, we didn’t get the garden worked like we had planned, but that’s alright. We’ll be playing a little catch-up this week. The good news is we were blessed with some much-needed rain on Saturday afternoon—thank You, Lord! 🌧️🌱

Just wanted to check in and say hello. We’ll be sharing more as the week goes on with what all is happening around here.

🌾💛 Hey Friends — We’re Still Here! 💛🌾

We know we’ve been a little quiet this week! Between the extreme heat and the start of Camp Meeting on Wednesday, it’s been full-speed ahead around here. The garden’s been keeping us busy, and the Lord’s been moving at church—what a week it’s been! 🔥🙏

This Saturday, we’re planning to get the garden cleaned up and disked so we can start prepping the rows for fall planting. Even though our yellow squash didn’t do well this summer, we’re not giving up—we’re going to give it another shot for a fall crop and see how it goes. 🌿💪

We’d love to hear from y’all—are there any veggies you’d like to see us grow this fall? Drop your ideas in the comments! We’ll look into what works well in our zone and soil. This farm is just as much for our community as it is for our family, and we’d love to grow what you enjoy. 🧄🥬🥕

🌽💛 First-Time Corn Success at Cedar Hill Farm! 💛🌽

Y’all… we’re just a little giddy over here today—this is the very first time we’ve had success growing corn on the farm! Every other year, the crows have beat us to it. We’d plant, they’d watch, and before anything had a chance to come up, the seeds were gone.

But this year? This year, a few strong stalks made it. 🙌 Not a massive harvest, but just enough to squirrel away in the freezer—corn on the cob in the middle of winter sure sounds like a treat to us!

We’re pretty sure our garden guardians—our sweet fur babies—deserve a little credit too. They love to lay out in the garden, just watching and soaking up the sun… maybe keeping an eye out for those pesky crows.

It might not seem like much to some, but to us, this little win feels like a big blessing. We’re so thankful for every single thing the Lord provides—big or small. 💛

🌾☀️ Slowing Down… But Not Those Purple Hulls! ☀️🌾

Things are finally starting to slow down a bit here at Cedar Hill Farm—except for the purple hull peas, of course! They must be loving this extreme Southern Arkansas heat, because they’re still going strong and producing like champs. 💜

Meanwhile, our green beans have finished up for the season, so we’ll be disking those up this weekend. The tomato plants have slowed way down, too—not much new fruit coming on lately, just a few stragglers here and there.

So, this weekend, we’ll be shifting gears and spending some time prepping the garden for what’s next—pulling plants, working the soil, and getting ready to plant again soon. Each season brings new work and new blessings, and we’re grateful for both.

🌾💛 A Full Weekend of Faith, Fellowship & Farming 💛🌾

It was a full and busy weekend for us here at Cedar Hill Farm!

Saturday morning began with such a sweet blessing—our church family gathered to celebrate a precious young couple who’s about to begin their journey into marriage. What a joy to celebrate love and new beginnings. 💍✨

By Saturday evening, we were back home and out in the garden, picking 9 long rows of purple hull peas. Y’all, this summer heat is no joke! That evening sun will drain every ounce of energy you’ve got—but even in the heat and hard work, we’re so thankful for a harvest to bring in. 🙌💜

Sunday brought a refreshing shift—church was powerful, and the Holy Spirit moved in such a sweet and undeniable way. Afterward, we were blessed to enjoy lunch and fellowship with our pastor, his wife, and their family. After all that, we finally got to rest and enjoy a peaceful Sunday evening at home.

Grateful for weekends like this—filled with purpose, love, and the goodness of God woven through every part of it. 💛
