So you’re exited about the future of the beef industry and think I’d be a great time to expend your herd? While we may not know exactly what the outcome of the cattle market will be over the next year or even two, one thing we do know is there are opportunities to market cattle for late 2024 at levels we don’t see very often.

Using an LRP policy for calves weighing 600lbs in November 2024, today you could lock in just over $1500 after premiums for a steer and about $1375 per heifer, while maintaining upside potential.
