White Oak Savanna is an organic and sustainable event space for barn weddings, concerts, farm to table meals and other special events.

White Oak Savanna is an organic and sustainable event space that aims to advance regenerative land management through artistic and interactive community programming. We have renovated the cathedral-like barn, first built by Charles Lloyd Jones (Frank Lloyd Wright’s first cousin), in addition to restoring the spectacular old-growth oak savannah (using organic methods such as controlled burns and

a comprehensive grazing program) and cultivating organic crops for the farm to table meals. White Oak Savanna will be a welcoming environment that harmonizes with the indigenous flora and fauna, using sustainable practices and renewable energy sources, including solar and wind power and rain water collection. What a weekend we had back in July! White Oak Roots Weekend brought together an amazing mix of music, culture, and community here at White Oak Savanna. Huge thanks to our instructors, volunteers, and every participant who showed up ready to learn, share, and connect. Whether you camped under the stars or joined us for a single workshop, you helped make this gathering something truly special. We’re so grateful to be building this celebration of Roots Music with all of you — and we can’t wait to do it again!

We’re feeling so grateful after another inspiring Sons of the Never Wrong Weekend Retreat we had earlier this summer with the added joy of Honorary Son, Jonas Friddle! From songwriting sessions and harmony workshops to late-night jams and creative breakthroughs, the weekend was full of connection, laughter, and pure artistic magic. Thank you to everyone who came — whether you’re a seasoned musician, a total beginner, or just someone curious about the creative process. You made this retreat something truly special. It was a joy to see ideas spark, voices rise, and community grow in the beauty of White Oak Savanna!

Back in May we had a fantastic event called Driftless Days which was a beautiful reminder of what happens when we step away from screens and into nature. Thank you to everyone who joined us at White Oak Savanna to hike, camp, and welcome spring in the heart of the Driftless region. From stargazing and natural science walks to music, art, and even a little wine tasting, each moment gave us a chance to reconnect — with the land, with each other, and with ourselves. We’re so grateful to share this space with such a thoughtful, curious community! Thank you for making Driftless Days so meaningful!

Thank You for an Incredible Festival!

We’re still feeling the magic from this year’s White Oak Festival! What a joy it was to gather with all of you to celebrate the beauty of the Driftless landscape and another season of programs here at White Oak Savanna. From the music and the workshops to the parades, yoga, art, open mic, jam sessions, and late-night s’mores under the stars — it was everything we dreamed of and more!

This festival is growing into something really special, and that’s thanks to the amazing people who show up to be part of it. Whether you performed, volunteered, led a session, helped behind the scenes, or simply came to soak it all in, thank you. You made it what it was!
