It never fails. There are umpteen things to do to prep for corn chopping season and so many things to pack for state fair weekend. There aren't enough hours in the day and then... something breaks. 🔧 💥 🚜 After coming to terms with a late-night parts run, we ended on a good note with a good meal, and good company ❤️.

Beets with tops have made it on the fall menu. Beets are still small, so these bunches are for the folks who love tops. Beets for canning, to be determined later. I prefer my tops in a skillet with garlic, butter and honey, or whatever seasoning is within reach. $15/12 bunch box.
[And yes, this was my choice for birthday dinner, along with leftover frozen chili. Delicious 😋! My kids did get me a gift... new rubber farm boots, that I asked for 😉 👢]
