Today, our Grind & Shine Coffee family is grieving the loss of someone who meant so much to us.

This photo was taken on the day Grind & Shine Coffee opened. Sitting proudly in his chair is my stepdad, one of our biggest supporters from day one. Juan was incredibly proud of everything we accomplished and always celebrated our successes as if they were his own.

He loved spending time at the Backyard Eatery, enjoying the food, visiting with friends and family, and watching our dream grow. Every time any of the vendors posted on Facebook, he was one of the first to share it. He genuinely wanted everyone to know about the things we were building and was always cheering on the Backyard Eatery from the sidelines.

Just this week, he was looking forward to spending time here again this weekend.

His absence leaves a tremendous void in our hearts, but we find comfort in knowing how much love, encouragement, laughter, and pride he gave us.

Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for supporting our dreams. Thank you for always showing up. We will miss you more than words can express.
