Hell'er High Water

Said goodbye to my buddy Frizzle this morning. He was a good boy and loaded up easy. Safe travels to his new owners.

All I can do is laugh. Given its not full highland like we were told, the s*x doesn't really matter but I've seen enough sacks for 2026 and 2027. This one's alive and healthy so still a win. Just more freezer filler. Here in about 3 years we should have some beef available.

We are considering selling this muddy boy, my Frizzle, as we decided we need another AHCA bull and would like to focus on Highland breeding instead of the highland mixes. Making this choice does not come easy for me as this bull has been my baby since he was 3 months old and decided he likes people.

He does a great job breeding the larger cows, we keep him in with 2-3 as our AHCA sire handles the rest. He was dam raised, halter trained and has an amazing deminor. He is non chondro and progeny of Webb Cattle's Pretty Boy.

We will get all the proper testing done, I wanted to put this out there in case someone is interested. In which case, send me a PM.
I will be picky on where he goes. It will sting a little less if I know he's living his best life.

***Update:Unfortunately Kayleigh's boy passed away prior to being born. It wasn't a fun morning and I think I'll smell it for weeks but she's doing great given the circumstances. Grateful for the help of Canton Vet Clinic and the miracle of her loading herself in the middle of the pasture. Turns out this girl enjoys attention and pets. Too bad it took such a sad day for us to realize it.
Praying for a healthy baby from Lucy Lu later this month. Although I will say she's not progressing very much so hoping she didn't lose it in the spring.

Looking foward to seeing the babies from these 2 in Sept. Hoping we start fall calving out with at least 1 heifer.

We have decided to part with Anastasia. Not because we don't think she's perfect, because we really do, but because the bulls we've been blessed with aren't paying bills. So, Anastasia is available. She's a sweetheart and has been haltered before but it's been a while. She can be registered HHCA Class A herdbook. Delivery available. Located in SE Iowa. DOB 4/22/25.
It won't take you long to realize why we wanted to retain her.
