Stoecklin's Orchard

Stoecklin's Orchard Stoecklin's Orchard Stoecklin's orchard was started in 2001. It is owned and operated by Kay & Phil Stoecklin.

We are a young orchard, so please be patient while our plants grow to harvest size. During blueberry season, we are open for U-Pick on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 8AM until we are picked out. Directions: From Greenville, IL, go north on Rt. 127 to Sorento Ave. Turn EAST on Sorento Ave and go 2 miles to the SECOND crossroad called Ayers Rd. (DON'T take the first crossroad - it's called

West Ayers). Turn NORTH on AYERS RD and go approximately 1/2 mile. We are located in the taupe colored shed with the dark green roof and trim on the west side of Ayers Rd.. We will have signs up durring blueberry season at the corner of Ayers and Sorento directing you to our farm and orchard.

We know our Hummingbird Festivals are hightlights of many of your summer and we are sorry to say that we have made the hard decision to cancel the 2026 hummingbird season. Vern Kleen, our hummingbird ba**er, is disappointed that he is unable to band and is sorry to miss all of you. Please keep an eye on our page for other banding opportunities and we hope you will continue to support our efforts.

Don't forget to clean those bird feeders - Tax Day is a great time for welcoming our beautiful friends to your yard!

(All banding, marking, and sampling is being conducted under a federal Bird Banding Permit issued by the US Geological Survey’s BBL)

Introducing Bee-Paw-sitive 🐝🌳🍦

This limited-time flavor is made with creamy, tropical-tasting pawpaws from Stoecklin's Orchard and a golden honey swirl from Hopper's Honey Bees. Both local. Both delicious.

In the case tonight, Thursday, starting at 4.

And a few of you said, “What the heck is a pawpaw?” 🤔
Pawpaws are North America’s largest native fruit — they grow wild right here in Illinois! The flavor is often compared to banana, mango, and custard all rolled into one. 🍌🥭
Seasonal, small-batch, and only here while it lasts — come grab a scoop and Bee-Paw-sitive with us! 💛

A happy ending....

To the gentleman who showed up in our driveway this morning with a wounded hummingbird in his hand begging me to help, I understood that you couldn't stay to watch, fearing the worst. I know that fear. I think your baby will be ok. I cared and protected her at a feeder here for over an hour. Mostly I just let her rest and guarded her from the other hummers. Every try at flight got a little longer. She took a tiny bit of nectar from me, and her final flight was successful up into our redbud tree.

We have NO hummingbird rehabbers in our area. I've learned to let them rest in a safe place with access to nectar and you have to let nature take its course, as hard as that may be.

I suspect a cat had given that baby to hard of a squeeze, ruffled feathers and all. Amazing how nature can overcome...

Safe recovery for a strong migration dear little one...
The nectar is free here as long as you need it...
