The first cutting of hay was officially underway! 🌱🚜 Last week we were chopping fresh hay and blowing it into the semi as we work to bring in a quality crop for the cows. From the field to the truck, every load is another step toward filling the feed bunk with nutritious forage for the year ahead. Come along and watch the teamwork, equipment, and harvest in action as hay season kicks into full swing here on the farm! (Full video is on my channel)

We had a storm roll through this afternoon. 80mph winds and heavy rain.
Thankfully no damage at the farm! On the other hand… we got 1.4 inches of rain in a short time.

It’s been a cold Spring here in Michigan.
Our first corn was planted May 14th.

If a calf is born still inside the amniotic sac, it’s at risk of suffocation due to the sac preventing the calf for breathing once the umbilical cord is broke.

Our dairy cows are in for a special treat as we begin green chopping cereal rye approximately a week ahead of full harvest to supply them with fresh feed.

Cow Number 786 needs to go in the robot to get milked for the first time since calving.
