The Robin House Homestead

The Robin House Homestead The Robin House was created in memory of Robin J. Butler, my sister. Robin lost her battle with cancer in November of 2019.

We have spent the last 5 years building our homestead to supply our family and yours with fresh vegetables and fruit. The original homestead was built in 1880 and named the Auger, Mitchell House. Cross Street was laid out in 1779 but did not follow the same route that it does today. The original settler of this site was Ward Nye in the 18th century. However, the house he built was moved to Sutton

in 1870. When Mitchell Auger bought the property in 1879, he built the current house which had been remodeled in 1960s, although he did not live in it. Instead, it was used as rental property until 1900 when Mitchell’s son Joseph, a former circus acrobat, moved in.”
