When we first moved back to the farm, we had talked of a mini orchard in one area of the pasture.

This weekend, we took the first small sweet steps towards it. A dear friend of the farm went with us down to a nursery in Ty Ty, Ga where we picked up 4 sticks.

Today, the family planted them.

Hopefully, within a few years these sticks will become producing fuji, gala, and granny smith apple trees!

It's been a while since we've posted!!!

Things are moving again here at the farm. We are ready to take piggies to market this coming weekend, turkeys are nearing their butcher time, and we have another batch of meat chickens ready to move out of the brooder and to the pasture.

Meanwhile, work has been progressing on our perimeter fence. Once it is up, we can get larger livestock like cattle, and maybe a horse or two.

And as usual, farming is a family affair, so the girls have been helping us with the fence today.

Piggies are now gardeners!!

Today they got moved to the garden plot where we had planted some oats as a cover crop. We'll
let them eat up and dig up as much of the vegetation and till out the ground as much as they can (adding some nice fertilizer in the process 💩), then we'll follow up with the garden implements a little later.

Anyone wanting to bring home the bacon?

We have some Gloucester Old Spot feeders who will be ready to start the ultimate journey to your table the second week of June.

The GOS pig has a tasty flavor, for sure. This is because of its distinct layer of back fat and marbling in the muscle. And you don't need to worry about boar taint, as these guys won't have the balls to make your meat taste off.

Our piggies are fed soy free, non-GMO, organic feed, and spend time hamming it up, grazing on a lush pasture.

Each pig is one Benjamin Franklin.

If you wish to have one held for you, there will be a non-refundable Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln which will go towards the final Benjamin when your piggy comes home.

We are located west of Atlanta, but we can bring the bacon to you for a nominal delivery fee.

If you are interested, you are welcome to slide into my DM to pick your pig. 🐷
