Had a little unexpected roadblock today!

Traffic had to come to a stop because this little guy decided he had places to be and crossed the road at his own pace. 🐢

Could’ve just driven around him… but sometimes you’ve gotta slow down and help our little wildlife friends make it safely to the other side.

No turtle left behind! 😂

Thankfully, we were able to help this little guy make it across safely and continued on his way.

Looks like someone is taking free range a little too seriously and decided the high ground comes with better service.

I guess when you’re the biggest bird on the homestead, you get the VIP seating! 🦃

Our feathered ladies absolutely LOVE black soldier fly larvae!

These little protein-packed treats are a favorite around the homestead and give the girls something fun to scratch, peck, and forage for. Watching them go after a handful of larvae is better entertainment than anything on TV!

We love giving our girls treats that encourage their natural foraging instincts while adding some extra protein and nutrients to their diet.

Today, from our family here at S&S Farms, we take a moment to remember.

We remember the innocent lives taken that day. We remember the families who woke up that morning and never got to hug their loved ones again. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military members, and everyday heroes who ran toward the danger without knowing what awaited them.

We remember the incredible unity that followed, when Americans stood shoulder to shoulder, neighbors helped neighbors, and the red, white, and blue seemed to fly from every front porch across this great nation.

As a veteran-owned family homestead, we are especially grateful for every man and woman who has worn the uniform and continues to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.

May we never forget September 11th.
May we never forget the lives lost.
May we never forget the heroes.
And may we never take our freedom for granted.
