Born into the restaurant business, Bruce Reed opened his first Bruster’s in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, after perfecting his recipe for rich, creamy homemade ice cream. People came from miles around to enjoy the skillfully prepared desserts that Bruce created right in that first store. ame one of the fastest expanding ice cream stores in the country and Bruce regretfully all but stopped wearing his apron to work. While we’ve come a long way from those early days, we adhere to the guiding principles that have made Bruster’s the revered brand that it is today. For example, we continue to make all our desserts, such as our cakes, pies, and waffle cones, as well as our ice creams, right in the store where they’re served. Most importantly, we’ve never lost sight of the reason Bruce started serving ice cream in the first place: to make our customers happy.
